Organized under the #EcoFriendlyFestivals slogan, Tusnad Gastro Fest represents a concept of several thematic events, dedicated to promoting the ecotourism destination Băile Tușnad and Surroundings. With a first edition organized in September 2020 under exceptional circumstances, the festival aroused a lively interest among both the knowledgeable public and the media, which naturally led to the desire to continue.
#TusnadGastroBluesFest 2nd edition will also take place outdoors, from June 18-20th 2021. The headliner of the second edition is Larry "Mud" Morganfield, the first born of the famous American bluesman, MUDDY WATERS aka McKinley Morganfield. The festival also comes with two premieres for Romania: the British guitarist MARCUS BONFANTI, an artist with a rich solo career, who in 2014 replaced Joe Gooch in the famous band TEN YEARS AFTER, as well as JUMPING MATT & HIS COMBO from Hungary and his guest, the Romanian world-class guitarist, AG WEINBERGER. Mátyás Pribojszki aka JUMPING MATT is one of the best harmonica players and an excellent vocalist. They will all share the stage with extraordinary Romanian artists, throughout the 3 days of celebrating the Blues!
The festival will also host a PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION, with images from the first edition, captured by the photographer Adrian Mociulschi, and two thematic introductory workshops in the mysteries of the genre held by the musician Marcian Petrescu: Saturday, June 19th about the role of the legendary star MUDDY WATERS in the history of modern blues, and on Sunday, June 20th, the artist presents in detail the development of music in Blues, from the archaic period to the present day. Access to the workshops is free, subject to availability.
Let's not forget gastronomy, we're talking about Gastro Blues after all…Papa La Șoni, a well known food brand among Romanian blues lovers, joins the festival and will be cooking absolutely delicious dishes for all the foodies! There will be no shortage of area-specific dishes either, such as goulash, kürtőskalács or langos, as well as lighter dishes such as pasta, and in the end we can all sweeten ourselves with several assortments of handmade chocolate.
